Curtis Strange was golfs feature attraction during 1988 and 1989, when he won back to back U.S. Open titles. He was the first player to do so since Ben Hogan (in 1950-51). Curtis was a three time recipient of the Arnold Palmer award as the PGA Tours leading money winner in 1985, 1987 and 1988. He was also the Golf Writers Player of the Year during those same three years. In 1988, Curtis was named PGA Player of the Year. He was a member of 5 Ryder Cup teams.
